Manuscript Publishing Process Mechanism

The eligibility of each manuscript published in Economics & Islamic Finance (ECIF) Journal is assessed by at least 2 peer reviewers and the editorial board. All stages of the manuscript review process are carried out through a double-blind review mechanism where the identities of the authors and reviewers remain anonymous. The editor-in-chief and the editorial board organize a joint editorial meeting to make the final decision on whether the manuscript is recommended for acceptance or rejection for each issue.

The editor-in-chief and the editorial board will evaluate the submitted manuscripts at the pre-qualification stage to determine whether the paper is worthy of further review according to the focus and scope of the journal. Each manuscript will be evaluated by qualified peer reviewers selected by the editor-in-chief and the editorial board. The peer reviewers must examine the substantial aspects of the manuscript according to their expertise and return it with recommendations that have been given to the author to the journal as soon as possible, usually within 3-4 weeks.

Manuscripts that require revision will be returned to the author, and the author must return the revised manuscript to Economics & Islamic Finance (ECIF) Journal by Open Journal System. The editor-in-chief sends the revised manuscript to the Editorial Board to check whether the manuscript is revised as suggested by the peer reviewers. The Editorial Board can provide recommendations to the editor-in-chief to return the manuscript to the author, accepted or rejected within a minimum of 2 (two) weeks. They can also organize an editorial meeting to discuss manuscripts that are accepted, rejected, or potentially published in each issue. The editor-in-chief will send a letter of acceptance (LoA) announcing the publication issue to the author before publication. After the LoA is released based on the decision of the editorial meeting, the manuscript will be submitted to the language editor and proofreader to be checked for readability and grammar. After the language editing process, the journal manager will prepare the layout and publication as well as the publication schedule in the Open Journal System (OJS).
